The sound of Lucrecia is the musical project of Lucrecia Pérez. A girl who was born in Pereira, Colombia in 1980.

With a guitar, electronic loops and her voice she weaves straightforward, emotional and catchy songs. She writes her songs, plays the guitar, produces her music and while doing it she fills her project with her enveloping and sweet voice, covering all her music with quiet and pleasant emotions.

Her project began in 2003. In 2005 she released her first album Acerca under the label Series of Medellín, this album falls into diverse electronic music genres and is created mainly with sinthetizers, drum machines and her voice. Later on 2007, the mexican label Mil Records where she had previously collaborated, re-edited this album.

During 2007 the sound of Lucrecia started to change slightly into more pop-structured productions, where the guitar and the vocal research became essential. This exercise drove her to her second production, an EP called Like Being Home, released under the net-label section of Series in May 2007.

The subtle presence of Lucrecia on stage is filled with femininity and versatility. She appears alone with her guitar, electronic devices, her computer and some other instruments. Her songs are progressively constructed on the set, recording live samples and structuring the melodies and rhythms. In a way a live performance by Lucrecia is like to watch a music lab where her strength, her voice, and her guitar make the audience feel as if the music came from some place in their memories.

She currently lives and works in Barcelona, Spain

The sound of lucrecia es el proyecto musical de Lucrecia Pérez, una chica que nació en Pereira, Colombia en 1980, que con la guitarra, los loops electrónicos y la voz nos presenta canciones simples, contagiosas y llenas de emociones. Ella escribe sus canciones, toca guitarra, produce su música y en este proceso llena su proyecto con una voz fuerte y dulce que empapa toda su música de emociones entrañables y tranquilas.

Su proyecto musical en solitario comienza en el 2003. En el 2005 saca su primer álbum Acerca, bajo el sello Series de Medellín. En él nos muestra una exploración por diversos géneros en los que construye su música con sintetizadores, baterías y su voz. En el 2007 el sello mexicano Mil Records con el que había colaborado anteriormente reeditó este álbum. A finales del 2006 el proyecto de Lucrecia comienza una transformación hacia estructuras pop más uniformes, donde la guitarra y la exploración vocal cumplen un papel fundamental. Este ejercicio la llevó a su segunda producción llamada Like Being Home que salió al público bajo el netlabel Series en Mayo del 2007.

La presencia de Lucrecia en el escenario esta llena de sutileza, feminidad y versatilidad. Aparece sola en el escenario acompañada de la guitarra, controladores midi, algunos instrumentos y su computador. Las canciones son construidas secuencial y progresivamente, mientras va grabando loops y estructurando las melodías y los ritmos ante la presencia del público. En este sentido, una presentación de Lucrecia es como atender a un laboratorio musical, donde la fuerza, la voz, la guitarra hacen que el público sienta que la música salió de alguna parte de su memoria.
