[neuma], a musician from Colombia who is also part of the Series netlabel, just released a beautiful EP called Tobi Ishi, in which I collaborated in one track with my voice!

A new video of the new song Come to my past is uploaded on youtube, this is a home made live set in which I wanted to show how my live set works….
So basically for this song I use my guitar which is record live 3 times (one at the beginning and 2 at the almost-end of the song), I also record the tambourine at the beginning and I have some samples of the song running from my laptop where everything is set up, played and recorded with Ableton Live. I also use a home made foot midi controller which I constructed with my dad a while ago, with this I can control a lot of things on the program without touching the computer and having control of the recordings and effects.

hay un nuevo video de la canción Come to my past en youtube, se trata de un video hecho en casa para mostrar un poco cómo funciona mi puesta en escena…
Básicamente para esta canción grabo mi guitarra 3 veces (una al principio y dos hacia el final de la canción), también grabo la pandereta al principio y tengo algunas pistas de la canción corriendo en mi computador donde todo es editado, operado y grabado con Ableton Live. También utilizo un controlador midi de piso que hice con mi padre hace un tiempo, con esto es con lo que puedo controlar las funciones del programa sin tocar el computador, pudiendo grabar y controlar los efectos en vivo.
Este video es grabado y editado en casa por Ricardo Duque. Espero que les guste.

Es una compilación de 4 chicas de distintos lugares del mundo cada una con 15 minutos de música y editado por un sello disquero hermoso que se llama Monika Enterprise de Alemania.

Mi disco Like Being Home ha sido nominado a los premios Shock de Colombia, la nominación está dentro de la categoría de Mejor Disco Web y si quieres puedes votar aquí

I guess I needed my home, just one. The thing is that the documents and stuff I would need to finally come and live in Spain took longer than I expected, so in the meantime I was flitting between my child home in Pereira, my sister’s home in Manizales, and more and more family homes around Medellín and Bogotá…. so the continuous changes of locations made my inspiration collapse….. I finally arrived here on April to my new and delightful home, located in a very beautiful place in Gràcia, Barcelona…. now that I am settled and everything is set up to play, all the ideas are flowing, can be easily constructed, almost from head to laptop….

so the thing is that ever since I’ve been working a lot. In may I finished 8 new songs, 2 that I already uploaded on myspace, other 4 that are part of a compilation under Monika Enterprise from Germany called “4 women no cry”, to be released this 17 of October…. and the other two songs…. we will see….

There is also a version of Lemmings which is going to be part of another compilation to be relased by the label Spezial Material from Switzerland, is a South American compilation. I haven’t heard the other songs, but I know that my Series colleagues Protov are also part of this….

I also finished working on a remix for [neuma] he is a talented musician from Medellín, Colombia, also part of the Series crew. I made a remake, more than a remix (I think) of a beautiful song called 187 candlelight, the result is a mix of different guitar layers, mixed with the beautiful pads of [neuma], claps, strings, hip-hop kind of drums made with sampled drums, and the result makes a sensation of a semi-wild car in the middle of nowhere, heat, loneliness…

I am also working now in two remixes, one for the beautiful song called Move and Remove, a song composed by Ana María y Camila López, two very talented girls from Medellín…. The original song is already on their myspaces…. and the remix so far has kind of a dubstep flavor, with a lot of voice layers from Camila’s voice and mine, though Camila’s being the principal one and conserving a few things from the original song: the bubbles-kind of pad, and some drums. The other remix is for mami, another musician from Medellín, a close friend, adviser and so on… the song is called cassette, and is a song in Spanish that talks about a cassette telling the stereo that the 2008 is the last year of existence…. this song is going to be part of an EP to be released under the netlabel section of Series this year

So, this year came with the name change. For those who don’t know, The Sound of Lucrecia is the musical project of Lucrecia Pérez previously known as Lucrecia, so you might find still some info with my old name!
